Personal notes:
Arien used her magic to raise herself to a higher advantage
to pluck the creature full of arrows. While
it didn't work in this combat it was a good strategy. I will have to remember that one.
Dorne again impressed me with his brute strength and
fighting. He cut down the magic user in
two swings of his sword. Only to have
White Crow take him out with his pets.
White Crow is a very odd person. He used magic to slow our opponents and made
us immune to the effects. (very clever I
need to see how he did that.) Where did
he get those snakes?
Myself I learned that I could resist some of the effects of
the evil wizards magics but not all of it.
I took a major wound to the chest.
My insides are all messed up. I
think it will take time before I recover from the magics. What I need to know is how he made the
casting of ether easier to do in my area and how he used the cow heart to do
it. I saw with my own eyes he used it in
some fashion but I need to know more.
Also if I resisted most of his first spell, I should have resisted the
second spell as well, but I failed in that respects. I must strengthen my mind to farther
attacks.
Play Session 3
ReplyDeleteFortunately the weather was clearing and although the roads where still muddy they made fairly good time getting back to town, only to discover no emergency. Leaving White Crow and his bear on the outskirts the group headed into town and sought out Brumborr to find out what had happened to Gwen’s body.
They found the smiths apprentice hard at work, and behind schedule on several orders so he begged off accompanying the group on their search for Gwen’s body. Arien split with the group and headed for the Gravel shed with hopes to find the village council and give them the news of the past days events. Finding Pallsey a couple of tankards into his evening, she quickly informed him of the past events, perhaps too quickly as he seemed confused by her tale. Silas and Dorn went off to the Madame Drunden’s house to see about Gwen’s body.
There, they were surprised to find that Gwen was not only alive, but evidently very well and able to travel as she had left early that day at first light. Hastening back to the Gravel Shed, they met up with Arien and headed back to the tavern to talk with the mayor. After a brief negotiation, Dorn drafted a writ to allow them legal documents to pursue Gwen and met out whatever punishment they deemed fit. As they met back up with White crow and headed out of town they ran into two woodsman farmers heading into town to meet with the council about matters of some foul creature destroying their livestock. Two cows had been found with their hearts ripped out. Dorn quickly assured Padron and Marcus that they were on the very mission to find and dispatch the demons causing the trouble, Padron agreed to lead the group back to his farm while Marcus continued to Hallsbury to inform the council of the news.
Tracking through the woods some of the party noticed that White Crow had become increasingly quiet and apprehensive of the Padron, but before anything was done about it, the group stumbled across the remains of a fresh but abandoned camp. They searched the area and found some large wolf prints as well as those of booted feet. It was obvious that the campers did not want their location discovered but the party perceived and tracked down a trio of chromen, two goblins and one human-like figure with the skin of tanned leather. It became obvious that the tall man was one of those from the camp, and after his attempt to use some sort of dark magic to nearly rip Silas’ heart from his chest, it was becoming clear that they also might be involved with the happenings at the farm.
The party made quick work of them, but one of the goblins was able to drop his pack and flea, despite the efforts of the White Crow in an inspired use of magic that turned the grasses into tangle vine. With the exception of Silas, the group came out with barely a scratch, but Silas had suffered a severe and grievous injury to his chest.
The party looted the bodies and the dropped packs finding:
Goblin lacky: Sling (with 13 bullets), 2 week of dried foodstufs, lockpicks (simple), 0.2 lbs of exotic spices, vial of ink, 50' silk rope, whetstone, fishing net, 4 person tent, all arranged in a backpack
