We defeated the dire wolves and found the farmer's wife,
dead in the middle of the road. We
thought it best to have one of us take the body back to Hallsbury for the Death
Watch. Burrmorr decided to take her back
while we three traveled on to the farm.
We back tracked the wolves to the Farmer's home where we found an old
man with a trained bear. I thought for
sure the bear was going to charge but I was surprised. Our apprentice boy spoke up and started
talking to the crazy man. I guess crazy
loves crazy because they took to liking each other. The man's name is White Crow and he was from
Palsey, a city just 3 to 4 weeks from Rothschurin. He explained he is part of the Silver Council
and he was on a quest to hunt down some demon half breeds. The farmer and his wife being some of
them. He showed us to the home where he
had killed the farmer. The evidence of his
corruption was by the extra organs inside his slain body. We also found the barn was corrupted by a
foul mixture of blood, flesh and rot all confined to one stall. Later I deduced it looks as if something
crawled out from inside of the filth. We
know the farmer had two children and we found a grave of what seems to be the
oldest son, Lance. We decided to wait
the night out and see if anything else came back. Something
did come back in the night because when we went back to the house the farmer's
body was gone without a trace of footprints.
When we told White Crow about the seeing how the girl was doing in the
town and to see if the wife awoke from the Death Watch, he became very agitated
and insisted we make haste to the town
because he is sure the Hybrid beast and the girl would be putting the town folk
in peril.
Personal Notes:
Dorne did surprise me by either his stupidity or his bravery
by taking the lead while we covered his back with our bows. While I still haven't seen his fighting skill
yet because I was busy with the other wolves in the first battle, he may be of
use to me. I still hope to met his
master to learn more about his strategies in combating the demons.
Arien I haven't got a good lead on yet. My uncle always told me never to trust
elves. They will always tell you half
truths and when it matters most, they will run from battle. They left us to die those many years ago and
maybe he is right. I will watch my back
with her for the time being.
White Crow, is a crazy man.
He is hell bent on killing anything connected to demons. While I am looking for ways to defeat the
demon hordes, I don't want to rush into things without thinking it through some
more.
Play session 2
ReplyDeleteAs the adventure continued the group found their way to Yuris farm, as they approached from the woods rather than the road they were able to spy a strange figure and a large bear near a small watering hole at the back of the house. With a few tense moments the group found out that the man and bear were willing to parley. The man claimed to be of the silver council, going by the odd name of White Crow. He produced a talisman in the shape of a coin with a couple of feathers attached as “proof” of his title. The stranger claimed to hail from the town of Penlay, a few weeks ride southeast of Rothschurin.
The White Crow, claimed that the body of Yuri was that of demon ilk, and he had cut the farmer open to prove it, also apparent on the body was a fine silver dust, and WC pointed out a specific “extra” organ that no one in the party could readily identify as proof to his claim of the farmers origins.
Further search of the farm discovered a small marked grave with a simple marker denoting it belonged to one of the farmers children: Lance. They found some interesting things about the farm, evidence that the farmer and his wife had been living fairly normal lives with the exception to the need for candle or lamp light. Their food stocks seemed to be consistent with the time of the year, being somewhat under stocked. The wood piles and candle supplies where very well stocked. The outbuilding for temporary farm help seemed to be tidy, yet unused but not unusual for the time of the year. The oddities were found in the barn, where no live stock was present, yet a single stall had a heaping and stinking pile of entrails, there seemed to be some kind of track that indicated something had crawled its way out of the pile of offal.
Outside the main house, the party found a small dream catcher secreted within a sapling tree just outside the front stoop. While looking about they found that night had snuck up on them, and they also noticed the Crow was nowhere to be found.
The group spent the rainy night in the workers hovel, and although Dorn had intentions of exhuming the body of Lance, the morning’s discovery of the missing farmers body changed their plans. The group had decided against a deathwatch for the farmer as he was quite clearly disemboweled and the White Crow had given assurances that the creature would not rise again. Either he was mistaken or someone or something came and carried off the old farmer but left no tracks behind. White Crow re-appeared and after discovering the missing farmer, and the fact that the group had not “properly” disposed of the body of Gwen, they must hurry back to town fearing that the demons were already on the rampage.
